Twitter employees must bring their own toilet paper to the office

That was mighty in the pants! Since Elon Musk (51) took over Twitter in October, nothing seems to be going as it should with the short message service. The two months were one of chaos and controversy.

Shortly after taking office, Musk laid off hundreds of employees. As a result, four floors were closed at the company’s San Francisco headquarters. At the same time, much of the cleaning service was also halted, the New York Times reports. That’s why the offices now smell of leftovers and sweat. The toilets are said to be dirty and there is a lack of toilet paper. Some employees have now even resorted to bringing their own toilet rolls due to the precarious conditions.

Twitter users voted for Musk to step down

Elon Musk has already announced that he wants to step down as Twitter boss – but only after a successor has been found. He tweeted, “I will step down as CEO as soon as I find someone unreasonable enough to do the job! After that I will only run the software and server teams.”

Twitter users had previously voted in favor of Musk’s resignation in a poll initiated by Musk. However, there is currently little indication that Musk will find a suitable candidate for the top position any time soon. Anyway, as the owner, he must maintain great influence over the online communication platform that companies, governments, authorities and politicians all over the world use for their PR work.

“You are Musk’s servant”

Musk had already warned before the vote that there were no interested parties who could “actually keep Twitter alive”. He himself had taken over the top spot when he bought the internet platform for about $ 44 billion in October. However, Musk had repeatedly signaled that this should not be a permanent solution.

Experts doubt that anyone other than the eccentric tech entrepreneur could lead the group under Musk’s rule. Management professor Erik Gordon of the Michigan School of Business said of the “Axios” news portal. “If you take the job, you are not in charge of anything. You are Musk’s servant.” (AFP/SDA/obf)
