52-year-old Swiss man dies after plane crash in Canada

I recognize the skyscrapers from Spiderman, Central Park from Kevin Alone in New York, the hot dog stands from Suits lunchbreaks, the stairs to Carrie’s apartment from Sex and the City, Grand Central Hall from Friends with Benefits, the fire escapes, on the buildings I know from “Friends”, the subway in which John Wick fights for his life in part 2. I recognize the traffic lights, the street signs, the taxis, even the red cups at the party were cinematic.

I’ve seen a lot of crazy things. Still, nothing really shocked me, probably because I went there expecting: if not in the Big Apple, then where?!

So I’m wondering, is there anything else to see from NYC that you haven’t seen anywhere else? Should I reshoot the Statue of Liberty now – trying to create something unique by shooting it from an unusual angle in a different light? (Spoilers: I did. I tried.)

Can I create another image of NYC that doesn’t exist yet? Are there still motifs that surprise or do we already know all sides of the city – from film and television?

I’ve tried. With the aim of showing the contrasts of the city. But I keep falling back and shooting subjects that are “quintessentially New York”: street fashion, the homeless, the skyline, the subway, the steam pipes peeking out of the streets like chimneys, and yes, I’ve also photographed the hot dog stands.
