Iranian reporter taunts US – defender Tyler Adams responds perfectly Davos – the hockey wheel of fortune with the offensive ketchup principle

The game between the US and Iran is the closest thing to the World Cup that contains political explosives. At the pre-match media conference, an Iranian reporter teased the United States.

First, the reporter chides US Attorney Adams for mispronouncing “Iran.” “They say they support the Iranian people, but they mispronounce the name of our country.” He then explains to the footballer how to pronounce the name correctly in English to “make that clear once and for all”.

The reporter then asks Adams how it can be okay for him to represent a country that “has so much discrimination against black people within its own borders.”

The 23-year-old defender responded confidently to the question and the passive-aggressive reprimand. He apologizes for the mispronunciation and explains that discrimination is everywhere. However, one thing he learned is that you should always strive to improve and educate yourself. This is the case in the United States, he says.

Of course it takes longer to fully understand something, but you should always be willing to learn more and be enlightened. “Just like you just informed me about your country’s incorrect pronunciation,” the 23-year-old told the reporter.

Leading up to the game, the United States Soccer Federation had provoked a modified version of the Iranian flag into a table. The central symbol believed to be that of the Islamic Republic was not visible on the flag. This was intended to express American solidarity with the protests against the Iranian regime. However, the flag was only visible for a short time and was quickly changed again. In response to the action, the Iranian media called for the United States to be excluded from the World Cup.

FIFA, which does not want political embassies in Qatar, is not out of work. (con)
