After Musk’s resignation: Ex-Twitter boss apologizes to employees of Trump’s hate prophets

After the massive layoffs at short-messaging service Twitter by new owner Elon Musk, the company’s co-founder and former boss, Jack Dorsey, has apologized to the employees.

“I realize a lot of people are mad at me,” Dorsey wrote on Twitter on Saturday. He is responsible for the fact that the Twitter employees are now in this situation: “I have grown the company too fast. Sorry about that.”

A week after it was acquired by multi-billionaire Elon Musk, Twitter fired about half of its 7,500 employees on Friday. Musk had fired Twitter’s management immediately after the takeover. Musk took over Twitter for $44 billion last Thursday.

The people at Twitter are strong and resilient, Dorsey wrote of the layoffs. They would find a way, even though the situation may be difficult right now. Dorsey co-founded the company in 2006 and stepped down as CEO last year. He also said goodbye to the Board of Directors in the spring. (sda/afp)
