North Korea tests again: Japan shoots down Selenskyj missile: 40 percent of energy system badly damaged – the night update without photos

North Korea has fired missiles again, the South Korean military says. The ballistic missiles flew toward the Sea of Japan on Thursday, one of which was shot down by Japan.

This is reported by the South Croatian news agency Yonhap, citing the army. The Tokyo government has confirmed that missiles have been detected on radar. One disappeared from radar over the Sea of Japan. She corrected initial statements that the first North Korean missile had flown over Japan again. There was no damage in Japan from the missiles. On October 4, a North Korean missile flew over Japan for the first time in a long time.

Residents of some prefectures in northeastern and central Japan had previously been asked to stay in their homes for safety. Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada said the first missile was fired around 7:40 a.m. local time. The potential trajectory could have sent the rocket flying over Japan. But she disappeared from the radar over the Sea of Japan. The reason for the disappearance from the radar is still under investigation, it said.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida called North Korea’s repeated missile tests “unacceptable”.

Despite international criticism, North Korea has been conducting missile tests at an unusually high rate since late September. South Korea’s military said the country had fired more than 20 rockets into its east and west coasts throughout the day on Wednesday. In the morning (local time), a short-range missile passed the eastern South Korean sea border. She fell into the sea about 60 kilometers off the coast of South Korea, the general staff said. The South Korean military responded, saying they fired three fighter jet air-to-ground missiles into the open sea north of the border.

The new North Korean missile tests were seen in South Korea in response to the largest air force exercise by South Korean and US forces in several years. North Korea had accused the two countries of “ruthless” military provocations and threatened countermeasures. The multi-day exercises in South Korea will continue until Friday. (sda/dpa)
