Three injured in gunshots outside a fast food restaurant – search for Migros problems, sanctions against Iran and chaos at Postbus – that’s Sunday’s news

Three people were injured by gunfire, including a man whose life was initially in danger: a dispute between two groups suddenly escalated Saturday night in front of a well-stocked fast food restaurant in Oberhausen. First there is a physical altercation, the detectives announced on Sunday. Then a 51-year-old man allegedly shot with a sharp firearm during the outdoor meeting. A 49-year-old man was shot in the abdomen. A 47-year-old woman was shot in the leg and a 28-year-old man in the arm. According to initial findings, the alleged shooter flees in a car. Paramedics take the injured to hospitals.

The investigators assume that the injured are not accidental victims, but that a meeting has been arranged. They also assume that more people were involved on both sides. A spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office said it may have been business matters. It was therefore unclear on Sunday exactly how many people met in the outdoor area of the fast food restaurant.

The investigators say they have secured recordings from surveillance cameras, which should provide more insight into the course of the crime. The 49-year-old was no longer in danger of life after emergency surgery, the Public Prosecution Service and the police announced on Sunday.

Just two and a half hours after shots were fired in the Ruhr town of Oberhausen, police officers provisionally arrested a 40-year-old man in Gelsenkirchen. He would have been present at the act, but not shot. He was still incarcerated on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the search for the suspected shooter continued. The 51-year-old suspect lives in Essen and, according to the public prosecutor, has Turkish nationality. During a search, officers did not find the person they were looking for. Initially, the prosecutor’s office did not provide any further information about the firearm.

During the filming in a very busy place in Oberhausen, there were apparently many people around, including pedestrians. Officials spoke to a number of people on Saturday evening in a specially equipped bus, a dpa photographer reported. Pastors would also have been on site. Individuals told the dpa photographer that they were shocked by the events that had happened in their area shortly before. (sda/dpa)
