By coach instead of bus – Corona offers a rather unusual replacement service on the German Baltic Sea island of Hiddensee. Because all bus drivers are sick, a horse replacement service has been set up, Mayor Thomas Gens said on Thursday.

It takes a little longer, but is a nice alternative to the car-free island. “It’s still nice weather.” In the past, the transport company Vorpommern-Rügen had been given replacement drivers, Gens said. That is not possible this time, however. There are also problems with absenteeism due to illness.
