Tech billionaire Elon Musk says he is not directly supporting any of the candidates in the US presidential election campaign with money. “To be clear, I am not donating money to either candidate for the US presidency,” Musk wrote on his online platform X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday.
Shortly before, Republican Nikki Haley had officially withdrawn from the party’s internal race for the US presidency, paving the way for former President Donald Trump to run again. This means that the November elections will be another edition of the showdown between Trump and Democratic incumbent Joe Biden, who has no significant competition in his party.
According to media reports, the Tesla boss is said to have met with Trump and other super-rich people in Palm Beach, Florida, this weekend. (sda/dpa)
