These six pairs of Michael Jordan sneakers sold at auction for $8 million.

Several shoes belonging to basketball legend Michael Jordan were auctioned for a record amount of eight million dollars (about 7.4 million euros).

The six shoes that Jordan wore in the 1990s in six championship finals of the North American basketball league NBA went to a bidder in the auction room in New York on Friday, according to auction house Sothebys. It is the highest amount ever paid for worn-out sports shoes.

Special sneakers have repeatedly made headlines at auctions because they fetched high prices. For example, in October 2021, Sotheby’s auctioned a pair of Jordan sneakers that the ex-Chicago Bulls star wore in his first NBA season in 1984-85 for approximately $1.5 million. In 2022, a sweater from Jordan, now 60, raised more than ten million dollars. (SDA)
