More than 230 deaths – three weeks after the earthquake in Japan, the number of deaths is increasing significantly. These are the 9 most important bottlenecks in the merchant navy

According to the latest authorities, 233 people were killed in the massive earthquake in central Japan in early January.

Ishikawa Prefecture on Japan’s main island of Honshu significantly increased its last announced number of 168 deaths on Monday. Another 22 people are still missing, she said. The severe earthquake that struck the prefecture and adjacent areas northwest of Japan’s capital Tokyo on New Year’s Day had a magnitude of 7.6. The city of Wajima was particularly hard hit.

Mountains of rubble, damaged roads, landslides and aftershocks and wintry weather with snowfall initially made search and rescue work difficult. In a sign of at least a partial return to daily life, all primary and secondary schools in the prefecture reopened on Monday, Japan’s Kyodo news agency reported. (sda/dpa)
