It is an act that the judge at Britain’s Norwich Crown Court described as “one of the worst and most unpleasant things I have ever had to deal with.” The two 23-year-old women Elisha R.* and Jodie C.* were tried there for what they had done with a 21-year-old woman with an intellectual disability.

Their act is shocking: high on cocaine, they kidnapped the 21-year-old to a bungalow, where they abused and tortured her for six endless hours. They forced her to eat feces and broken glass, doused her with bleach and boiling water and sexually abused her.

They filmed parts of this ordeal with their cell phones. Also present was a then 16-year-old who was sentenced by the juvenile court to six years in juvenile detention. He admitted to sexually assaulting and hurting the victim. Chat messages showed that the three perpetrators also planned to kill the 21-year-old, but ultimately did not carry out that plan.

The two women were sentenced to 12 years and nine months in prison at Norwich Crown Court. Although they expressed remorse, the judge showed no mercy.

The victim said in a statement to the court: “I truly cannot imagine how anyone could treat another person the way I was treated. And why did this happen to me? I can barely sleep because I’m reliving the whole thing over and over again, and when I do sleep I wake up with recurring nightmares.

“The aftermath of the attack and the damage it caused to me and my family will live forever. Nothing will ever be the same again.” (neo)
