Second day in a row: Turkey again bombs Kurdish militias in northern Iraq. This is how the Israeli army continues its advance in the southern Gaza Strip

The Turkish army has carried out airstrikes on Kurdish militias in northern Iraq for the second day in a row. The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday evening that ten fighters from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) have been “out of action”. As a rule, the government in Ankara means that people have been killed, injured or captured. The airstrikes are in response to an attack on a Turkish military base in northern Iraq on Friday.

At least nine Turkish soldiers were killed and four others injured in clashes with PKK fighters. Since then, the Turkish air force has been bombing Kurdish militias in northern Iraq and northern Syria.

The PKK has been fighting the Turkish state since the 1980s and repeatedly carries out attacks in Turkey. It is classified as a terrorist organization by Ankara, Europe and the US. Ankara regularly carries out military operations against the PKK, whose headquarters are in the Qandil Mountains in northern Iraq.
