Train drivers’ strike begins in Germany – Switzerland also affected “We got along well before I shot her” – Serbian comments on femicide

After starting in freight transport, the strike by the German train drivers’ union GDL has also started in passenger transport. Deutsche Bahn’s severely limited emergency timetable has been in effect since 2 a.m. on Wednesday morning, the company announced overnight.

According to SBB, the strike in Germany will also lead to many cancellations in cross-border passenger transport. Lost connections on Swiss route sections will be replaced, the SBB announced on Tuesday. The restrictions were expected to last from 2am on Wednesday until 6pm on Friday. Night trains running to Germany are also affected.

The SBB advised postponing travel to or via Germany to another time. Thanks to a special gesture from Deutsche Bahn, travelers would be given the opportunity to postpone their trip and use the ticket sooner or later. (sda/dpa)
