‘Iron Man’ director Jon Favreau (57) returns to the ‘Star Wars’ universe. Favreau will begin filming “The Mandalorian & Grogu” this year, the producers of “Star Wars” announced on the film website on Tuesday (local time). “I love telling stories set in the rich world created by George Lucas,” Favreau said in a statement.
This would be the first feature film from the Star Warrior world since “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” (2019), directed by JJ Abrams. With ‘The Mandalorian’ on the streaming service Disney+, Favreau had already created a ‘Star Wars’ television series as an inventor, author and producer. In it, Pedro Pascal plays the bounty hunter of the same name, alongside Grogu, known as “Baby Yoda”. As a producer, Favreau also worked on the “Star Wars” series “Ahsoka” with lead actress Rosario Dawson. (sda/dpa)
