class=”sc-cffd1e67-0 fmXrkB”>

Secret Service police are investigating a vehicle that crashed into a security barrier at the entrance to the White House.

A vehicle crashed into an outer gate of the White House in the US capital Washington on Monday evening (local time). The driver was taken into custody, the Secret Service responsible for protecting the president announced on the X platform.

The cause and “manner of the collision” are under investigation, the report said. US President Joe Biden (81) was not in the White House at the time of the incident.

The police temporarily closed a large part of the streets around the president’s official residence. An occasional helicopter circled above the complex. There were initially no reports of injuries. (SDA)
