Nasty burrito attack: Rosemary H. now has to work in a fast food restaurant herself.

“Do you want to spend two months learning how people should be treated, or do you want to serve your prison sentence?” the judge asks defendant Rosemary H.* (39) during her trial.

She was filmed throwing a hot burrito bowl into Emily R.*’s face from a few feet away. For this she ended up in court for assault. The judge’s verdict is now being celebrated on social media – as the defendant must serve part of her sentence in the kitchen of the same fast food chain.

Another customer captured on a cell phone camera how H. came running in a rage back to the serving counter of a branch of the fast food chain Chipotle in Parma, Ohio. She briefly shouted at R. that her food looked ‘disgusting’. The Chipotle employee tried to calm the customer down in a calm voice – which made her even angrier. So much so that the burrito attack took place, for which H. had to answer before the Municipal Court of Parma.

“I bet where I send you the food won’t taste good either.”

Judge Timothy Gilligan told the 39-year-old: “This is how you react when you don’t get the food you want? We’re not here with the Desperate Housewives of Parma!” H. was sheepish: “I’m sorry, but it looked really disgusting.”

Whereupon Gilligan sentenced the shocked defendant to 90 days in jail, saying, “I bet where I send you, you won’t like the food either.” H. burst into tears, after which Gilligan made her a suggestion: “I will give you 60 days in prison if you work 20 hours a week at the fast food restaurant for two months. Maybe this will teach you to be more empathetic towards others in the future!”

H. agreed, and victim R. was also satisfied. She revealed afterwards to local TV channel Fox8: “The woman was not simply reprimanded. I hope the punishment will deter others!” However, she will not work with her attacker because she now has another job. (gs)
