Curious operation in the US: Curious dog gets stuck in the wall of a house

Animal curiosity can have oppressive consequences. A dog in South Carolina experienced this firsthand. A neighbor alerted the police because she saw the four-legged friend’s head ‘growing’ out of a house wall.

According to Sumter police, Spike is owned by a local boy, 15 years old. Because he was at a school festival with his parents, the animal was taken to the 15-year-old’s grandmother.

While she was out shopping, the curious hound sniffed into the laundry room, where he discovered a ventilation shaft. He crawled in and then tried to get out through the small round ventilation hole.

“Spike’s probably already planning his next prank.”

As a result, Spike was able to force his head out, but the rest of his body was stuck in the wall. The result: it looked like a hunting trophy.

Spike had to be freed by the combined forces of police and firefighters. The rescuers removed the wood from the outer wall and cut open the caulking behind it. “We are happy that we were able to rescue the dog unharmed from a very unfortunate situation,” the police wrote on Facebook.

And the grandmother of Spike’s owner commented on the post: “I’m so grateful for the care with which the police and fire brigade rescued Spike. My grandson is also very happy and Spike is probably already planning his next prank.” (ymh)
