Australian influencer Kat Clark has revealed that she pulled her daughter Deja out of school because of Tiktok.

Train in the classroom, play on the playground and solve difficult tasks. Little Deja Clark (12) from Australia will probably no longer experience what normally describes the daily life of a twelve-year-old. Her mother took her out of school to prepare her for a career as an influencer, the Daily Mail reports.

Kat Clark (37) is a Tiktok star herself. She presents the popular Australian podcast ‘Basically Besties’ together with her daughters Latisha (20) and Deja (12). 5.2 million followers follow her Tiktok account.

More and more absences

It makes no sense to her that her daughter is still at school. “School doesn’t work for us anymore,” Clark said in a recent podcast episode. The combination of school and social media used to work well because the Australian worked in a company and had a normal job.

Now, however, the initial situation has changed. «Since we started this job, I have had to travel a lot more. Deja now has more and more opportunities to travel, which means she cannot be at school from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Monday to Friday.” The parents would have to pick up their daughter from school more and more often.

The twelve-year-old now receives lessons from home. “We believe this is what is best for her and our family.” But the mother also admits: “If she realizes that she would rather go back to school, we will enroll her again.”

The eldest daughter quit her law studies

Her eldest daughter finished regular school and actually wanted to study law. But she also threw her plans as an influencer overboard. About working with her daughters, the 37-year-old says: “I enjoy working with them. It’s so much fun, it’s like working with your best friends.”

Ultimately, what matters most to Clark is that her daughters can be themselves – and not change for anything or anyone.

On the Internet, comments from understanding users are piling up: “I would 100 percent let my child drop out of school if he were mature enough,” wrote one woman. Another added: “As a high school teacher I am absolutely fine with that! “Why would you force a child to stay in school if he doesn’t want to?” she asked. (An)
