British also report an attack

The British military previously said there was likely a drone attack and explosions in the Red Sea. The British agency UKMTO (United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations), which is run by the British Royal Navy, said it had “received a report of unmanned aerial system (drone) activity, including a possible explosion from the direction of Yemen.”

The incidents took place amid heightened tensions in the Red Sea and surrounding waters after Iran-backed Houthi rebels hijacked an Israel-linked cargo ship, the Galaxy Leader, last month. Yemen’s Houthi rebels have carried out a series of attacks on ships in the Red Sea in recent weeks and fired drones and missiles at Israel, which is waging a war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
