The man whom Bern police were looking for in connection with a fatal altercation in Ittigen BE is in custody. He was arrested in Hungary last Friday.
The man is said to have been involved in a dispute in an apartment building in Ittigen on November 10. A 23-year-old Colombian woman and a 23-year-old Spaniard were killed in the collision. Another person was seriously injured.
The police assume that the person they are looking for is probably directly related to the crime. He was arrested in Hungary on November 17 as part of an international manhunt, the Bern-Mittelland regional prosecutor’s office announced on Friday. The extradition procedure is ongoing.
According to the Public Prosecution Service, extensive investigations are still ongoing.
The argument broke out in the early morning of November 10 in an apartment building on Ittiger Längfeldstrasse. The emergency services found a seriously injured person on the sidewalk in front of the house and two other seriously injured people in the house.
The three people were taken to hospital in critical condition. There the Colombian and the Spaniard died of their wounds. (sda)
