A child lost several teeth during a fight during a chess tournament in Lindau, Germany, not far from the Swiss border. The perpetrator is said to be an adult man. However, much is still unclear and the police have a long series of questions.
According to officials, the only thing that is certain so far is what they published in a short report on Monday: “On Saturday evening, around 5:30 p.m., there was a physical altercation at a school on Reutiner Strasse as part of a chess tournament.” The child was pushed against a pillar by the suspicious man. As a result, both the front incisors and a canine tooth broke off.
A day later, on Sunday, the parents showed up at the police station in Lindau and reported the crime. They were also able to mention the name of the suspect.
However, the police have not yet questioned him. “Because the crime was only reported the next day and we were not at the school on Saturday immediately after the alleged attack, it will probably take some time before those involved and all witnesses can be interviewed,” a police spokesperson explained to t- online. .
Only the interrogations can reveal important matters, the spokesperson said. For example, it is still unclear “to what extent the chess tournament or a specific game played a role in the dispute.”
Officials are not releasing the child’s exact age for privacy reasons. Exactly this: the police spokesperson said it was younger than 14 years old. Any witnesses who can provide relevant information about the incident are now asked to contact Lindau Police Station on 08382/9100. (t-online, mtt)
