Almost a month ago, Narges Mohammadi (51) won the Nobel Peace Prize for her fight against the oppression of women. Now the Nobel Peace Prize winner, who is imprisoned in Iran, has started a hunger strike.
She sent a message about this to her family from the infamous Ewin prison in the capital Tehran. She announced this on Monday on her Instagram account, which is managed by relatives abroad.
“We are concerned about the physical condition and health of Narges Mohammadi,” the post said.
According to the Instagram post, Mohammadi is protesting the conditions in the prison with her hunger strike. Sick prisoners should be neglected and not given the medical treatment they need. At the same time, she protests against the mandatory headscarf in the Islamic Republic. (SDA)
