This is the new and final Beatles song – with John Lennon and a little AI, Apple is developing a ChatGPT alternative for iPhone etc – that’s what you need to know

Although The Beatles broke up more than fifty years ago, the band still has countless music records in its possession. Today the final song featuring all four Beatles was released – thanks to AI technology.

More than fifty years after the Beatles broke up, the last song together by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr was released today – even though two of the four band members are no longer alive.

This is the last Beatles song:

An AI program was used to filter John Lennon’s voice from a 1979 studio recording of the song. The rest of the song was produced by Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. George Harrison, who died in 2001, ‘plays’ guitar. In the 1990s he made several recordings of his guitar playing.

We now have what is surely the Beatles’ final song to thank for this compilation of Harrison’s guitar recordings, the AI-filtered voices of John Lennon as well as Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney. In the twelve-minute documentary released on the Beatles’ official YouTube channel, Ringo Starr described the song as “the Beatles’ last song.” The music video for the song will be released tomorrow, November 3.

The story of “Now and Then”

In just over seven years, between 1963 and 1970, the Beatles released a total of thirteen albums. While working on their latest album “Let It Be”, there were arguments between the band members. After the album’s release in 1970, the band eventually split.

The artists were also relatively successful in the following years, but many Beatles fans still hoped for a reunion of the band and thus new songs from the Liverpools.

In 1980, these hopes came to an abrupt end when John Lennon, accompanied by his wife Yoko Ono, was shot outside his New York home by a deranged fan.

Two new Beatles songs with John Lennon

But in 1995 there was a surprise. The three surviving Beatles released two new songs written by John Lennon as part of their “Anthology Series”. This was possible because Lennon had recorded the songs before his death, but never released them. Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono gave the studio recordings of the songs to the Beatles.

In addition to the two songs ‘Free as a Bird’ and ‘Real Love’, the recordings also contain the song ‘Now and Then’. The Beatles toyed with the idea of releasing the song in 1995, but producing the song was so complicated that the Beatles quit after just two days. The reason for this was background noise in the studio recordings that was almost impossible to filter out and a lack of Lennon’s verses.
