Aviv Kutz (†54) protectively wrapped his arms around his wife Livnat (†49) and his children Rotem (†19), Yonatan (†17) and Yiftach (†15). There was no point; the Hamas terrorists showed no mercy. They shot the family of five on a bed in kibbutz Kfar Aza.
So they finally found their neighbors – tightly embraced. In their last moments they held each other.
Now the murdered family was buried next to each other. Hundreds attended the funeral near Jerusalem. The five coffins were lowered into the ground next to each other at the cemetery.
According to Israeli media, the family moved from Boston to Israel several years ago and built a house in Kfar Aza, father Aviv’s hometown.
His wife’s sister, Adi Levy Salma, tells Israeli news portal Ynet. “We told her it was dangerous, but she didn’t want to move because it was her home for life,” Levy Salma said.
Mother Livnat A was a graphic designer, father Aviv was deputy director of a consultancy firm.
Daughter Rotem was a soldier, sons Yonatan and Yiftach were students and basketball players in Hapoel’s youth program. They dreamed of becoming professionals. Your aunt is heartbroken. She says about “Ynet”: “They were all great kids with big hearts. They had their whole lives ahead of them.”
The family wanted nothing but peace. On October 7 – the day of his death – Father Aviv wanted to hold his annual kite festival, as his sister says. He flew kites along the fence along the Gaza Strip with family and friends. “To show them that we just want to live in peace.” (neo)
