The travel blogger “Nonstop Dan” inspires countless fans on YouTube. The aircraft expert travels around the world and reports relentlessly on his experiences with various airlines. His videos have hundreds of thousands of views and his channel has almost 900,000 subscribers.

He recently traveled with Swiss from Zurich to Dubai. The flight takes about six hours and Dan says he paid “several thousand francs” for the flight. But the frequent flyer finds the experience more than disappointing.

The problems start at Zurich airport. After a long trip from New York, the YouTube star wants to freshen up in the Swiss business class lounge in the intercontinental e-dock at Zurich airport – very common on such long trips. But: “There are only three showers available. That is far too little for an airline’s hub lounge.” Other airlines would offer considerably more comfort at their hubs.

The flight to Dubai remains a disappointment for Nonstop Dan. Although the bed is flat, “it is as soft as a wooden bench. “That’s cool if you like beds that feel like a wooden bench,” he concludes. Dan emphasizes that flying business class is not a given. “But if you are going to spend the money to travel this way, it must also meet your expectations. That’s why I don’t hide anything.” Overall, performance in Swiss business class was “disappointing and not what I expected from a Swiss product.”

The Swiss will react to the current state of the business class. In the coming years, the airline will gradually convert its cabins and install new seats, as announced in March. Then comfort should improve considerably.
