On September 16, a serious accident occurred in Poland, near the town of Piotrków Trybunalski, in which an entire family died on the spot, in which the Pole Sebastian Majtczak (32) was said to be responsible. Now the police are looking for him with an arrest warrant.

According to data from the on-board computer, Majtczak is said to have raced along the highway at 253 km/h before losing control of his car. He then crashed into a Kia carrying a family of three. The speed limit at this point is 120 km/h. The family’s car crashed into the guardrail and caught fire. The family, a five-year-old child and his parents, died in the flames.

The suspect also has German nationality

Majtczak disappeared after the crime – the man has not been found to this day. However, it is suspected that he could be outside Poland. That is why the police are now looking for the man with a European arrest warrant, reports the Polish newspaper “Rzeczpospolita”, citing the police.

Polish Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro (53) published the personal data and an unpixelated image of the suspect. Majtczak is said to have German and Polish citizenship. According to “Rzeczpospolita”, Majtczak could currently be in Germany. This can be seen from the login details on his mobile phone.

Hope for help from Germany

However, because his passport has been invalid since 2016, it is unlikely that the suspect would travel to a country outside the Schengen area.

Meanwhile, his family has assured that Majtczak will appear in court. But so far this has not happened. Ziobro emphasized that he would “do everything possible so that the perpetrator can be successfully arrested.” For an arrest to be successful, cooperation between the Polish judiciary and German authorities will likely be necessary – assuming he still does not voluntarily appear for the hearing in Poland.
