After doctors wondered for years: ChatGPT discovers the mysterious disease of boys

Alex from the US had to endure hellish torture for three years.

17 doctors and still no diagnosis. Despite the hellish torment that little Alex (7) from the US had to endure, no one could determine what he was suffering from. Until now.

The boy has neither one of the many specialists nor groundbreaking new medical research to thank for this. Instead, ChatGPT made the correct diagnosis. And this after years of uncertainty and countless doctor visits, as ‘Today’ reports.

Migraines, fatigue and chronic pain

Alex’s ordeal began when he was four years old. He started chewing things and suffered from severe chronic pain. “Our usually sweet, sweet child has turned into a crazy, crazy person who didn’t exist before,” mother Courtney told the American medium.

As if that wasn’t enough, at some point the growth stopped. He also complained of migraines and symptoms of fatigue. But none of the doctors they consulted could help.

Instead of looking at the problem holistically, the specialists focused too much on their respective fields. “No one gave us even a shred of information about what the diagnosis might be,” the mother said.

“Everything was very logical”

Visits to the dentist, orthodontist and physiotherapist also yielded no results. Finally, the mother consults ChatGPT. She meticulously typed the results of the MRI and other individual diagnoses into the chatbot.

Finally, ChatGPT spits out a result: Alex suffers from the so-called “tethered cord syndrome”. This is a disease in which the spinal cord fuses with the surrounding tissue.

After a specialist confirmed the diagnosis, Alex’s mother joined a Facebook group for families with affected children. Because their stories sounded like her son’s, “everything made perfect sense.”

Courtney couldn’t believe her luck that after three years it became clear what her son was suffering from. Alex has now undergone surgery to correct tethered cord syndrome. (dzc)
