“The party’s over”: Activists spray millions of yachts in Ibiza Netanyahu released from hospital – he spent too long in the sun without a hat

Protest against “luxury emissions”: In Ibiza, activists sprayed Walmart heiress Nancy Walton Laurie’s giant yacht.

Spanish climate activists struck several times last weekend and spray-painted three expensive luxury homes on the holiday island of Ibiza. The target of their latest attack was the multimillion-dollar yacht “Kaos”. On Sunday morning, the group “Futuro Vegetal” (in English: vegetable future) sprayed the stern of the ship with red and black paint.

With their actions, the group wanted to criticize capitalism and the privileges of the super-rich, the activists said on Instagram. Photos show two young men standing in front of the attacked ship, holding up a sign that says “You consume, others suffer”.

With the recent attack on the yacht, their “Private jets and yachts, the party is over” campaign is over, the post said. It was the third such action in three days. “Futuro Vegetal” first sprayed paint on a private jet on the tarmac of the holiday island’s airport on Friday morning and stuck to it. On Saturday, the group sprayed a Lamborghini red on Ibiza.

The 110-meter yacht, which is said to have 16 guest cabins and 24 staff cabins, was reportedly sold to Nancy Walton Laurie in 2018 for approximately $300 million.

The magazine “Forbes” estimates the American’s fortune at about eight billion euros – this puts her at number 94 in the ranking of the richest Americans. The 70-year-old Laurie is one of the heirs to the fortune of the successful in the American Walmart group of companies.

On their website, the climate activists call for a switch from livestock farming to a more climate-friendly agriculture. They also call for a ban on private jets and “luxury emissions”.

The action was similar to that of the “Last Generation” from Germany. The members of the climate protection organization regularly stick to streets, highways and airports. They too advocate for more climate and environmental protection in view of the climate crisis.

So far, the reports have not revealed what consequences the activists will face in Spain.
