30-year-old run over family: Angelika H.

Angelika H.* (30) raced through the Italian town of Santo Stefano di Cadore at about 90 km/h. This is evidenced by images from a security camera. The Audi driver ran over three people last week. The accident killed a grandmother, a father and his two-year-old son.

Prosecutor Paolo Luca describes the German as “a person who cannot contain her anger”. An outburst of anger was probably the reason three people died, he believes.

The family is out in the afternoon in the Alpen-Ort. She wanted to vacation here and then return to the Venice suburb where the family lived.

Witnesses say they saw the Audi A3 on two wheels on the sidewalk for a while. The car only comes to a stop 53 meters behind the scene of the accident. A lamppost and a fence have been affected.

Four people are hit by the Audi: the mother is only lightly touched, grandmother, father and son fly completely through the air.

Their bodies were eventually found 100 feet behind the scene of the accident. Father and grandmother were killed instantly, the boy was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The commander of the Carabinieri breaks his pause and makes his way to the crime scene. He had heard a loud noise. Five minutes later, the emergency call comes in.

The officer meets the shocked Angelika H. at the scene of the accident. He has no doubt that she is responsible for the accident.

The boy was pronounced dead at Belluno hospital.

Now Angelika H. also comes to the hospital. The doctors diagnose abrasions, her mobile phone is confiscated. H. states that he has not used drugs or alcohol.

The German is arrested and a warrant is issued against her. She is sent to the women’s prison on the island of Giudecca off Venice. It turns out that the young woman was reported in Bolzano on May 23, 2023 for resisting law enforcement and carrying a dangerous object.

According to the report, she burst into tears at an electronics store and insulted and threatened the manager. He had refused to replace her cell phone. The police who were called were unable to calm her down.
