FBI Chief Christopher Wray (56) has indirectly criticized the way former US President Donald Trump (77) kept government documents secret. “As I said, I don’t want to comment on the ongoing case, but I would like to say that there are specific rules about where classified information should be kept,” Wray said Wednesday at a hearing in the US Congress. These would have to be stored in facilities that met certain security requirements, the so-called SCIFs (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility). “Ballrooms, bathrooms and bedrooms are not SCIFs.”
Wray answered a member of parliament’s question as to whether these locations were suitable locations for holding classified information. She was referring to the affair over classified government documents in which Trump was accused in mid-June in a federal court in the US metropolis of Miami.
The Republican kept top secret government documents at his property in Mar-a-Lago, Florida after his term in office and did not return them upon request. Trump pleaded “not guilty”. The indictment says Trump kept boxes of classified information in his bedroom, a bathroom, a shower, a ballroom and a storage room. (SDA)
