The Exosphere is the exterior of the new Sphere location. It involves a screen of approximately 53,800 square feet. This consists of 1.2 million LED pucks, each with 48 LED diodes – and can shine in 256 million different colors. Guy Barnett, Brand Strategist and Creative Developer says of “Designboom”: “The Exosphere is more than a screen or a billboard – it is living architecture and unlike anything else in the world.”
An equally immersive venue for music, sports and film events is created inside the building. About 18,000 people can sit there – if only they are patient. Because the Sphere will not open its doors for a U2 concert series until September.
