“Titan” wreckage with human remains recovered Estonia wants to donate assets of Russian oligarchs to Ukraine

As the US Coast Guard announced on Wednesday evening (local time), human remains have also likely been recovered and are now to be examined by experts in the United States. According to the authority, the ship “Horizon Arctic” brought the wreck to St. John’s on the Canadian island of Newfoundland on Wednesday.

“There is still a lot of work to be done to uncover all the factors that led to the catastrophic loss of Titan,” said Jason Neubauer of the US Coast Guard, who is leading the agency’s investigation. The investigations are necessary so that such a tragedy does not happen again.

The submarine disappeared on Sunday a week ago after exploring the wreckage of the Titanic. The US Coast Guard had launched a large-scale search some 700 kilometers south of Newfoundland, mainly with the help of Canadian troops.

The wreckage of the vehicle was discovered just 500 meters from the bow of the wreckage of the “Titanic”. So it was clear: the five occupants were dead. Everything indicates that the hull of the boat collapsed under the enormous water pressure and imploded. The “Titanic” lies at a depth of about 3800 meters on the seabed. The luxury liner sank in 1912.

The Canadian ship “Horizon Arctic”, which now lifts the debris of the “Titan” from the water, also played an important role in the search for the submarine. It had used a remote-controlled diving robot, which eventually encountered the wreckage of the “Titan”.
