On Sunday it was very hot again in Berlin: the sun was shining and temperatures rose to 26 degrees. The perfect weather to cool off in the outdoor pool. However, things also got heated between Badi visitors and security personnel.

Now the police are investigating on suspicion of physical injury and deprivation of liberty, the “image” writes.

Sexual harassment

According to witnesses, three security guards were notified of two outdoor bathers – for sexual harassment. Security then asked the two 23-year-olds to enter a room to investigate the allegations. However, the conversation did not go quite as planned.

It is said that a wild brawl broke out between the five people. While one moaned about a sore chest, the other had a sore shoulder. A security guard (39) also suffered a hand injury.

However, all refused treatment. Although police have investigated the sexual harassment allegation, the gang is now under investigation. The presumption: mutually dangerous bodily harm and deprivation of liberty.

Already the third escalation

It is not the first time that the police have had to move to Pankow’s outdoor swimming pool. Almost a month ago there was already a massive brawl between 20 young people. Just two weeks later, some 30 youths attacked lifeguards and security guards.

Violent riots are also a regular occurrence in other open-air swimming pools in Berlin: On Wednesday, the outdoor swimming pool in Neukölln had to be evacuated due to a scuffle involving about 50 young people.

The consequences are now known for a more peaceful outdoor bathing experience: “We can no longer and will not accept such disputes,” said Berlin Baths CEO Johannes Kleinsorg. “To ensure the safety of all swimmers and our colleagues, we are therefore closing the large slides and diving towers in the summer baths in Neukölln and Pankow with immediate effect.” (lia)
