Although one out of every three employees in Switzerland feels stressed at work, psychological stress at work decreased between April 2022 and March 2023 compared to the same period of the previous year.
Consulting firm Gallup talks about a 5 percent reduction in stress. Compared to its European neighbours, the “stress level” in Switzerland is below average, according to the study. For example, in neighboring Germany, 42 percent of respondents said they experienced stress at work. According to the information obtained, the European average is 39 percent, the world average is 44 percent.
At the same time, many employees are currently evaluating the situation on the labor market in Switzerland as positive. Almost one in two people, 46 percent, said now is a good time to change jobs. However, this value is slightly below the European average of 56 percent.
An emotional bond with an employer is only a barrier for a small minority when it comes to changing jobs, according to research. Only eleven percent in the survey signaled a strong bond with their current employer.
This puts Switzerland just below the European average of 13 percent and well below the global average of 23 percent. France (7 percent) and Italy (5 percent) were even lower than average.
According to the information provided, 122,416 employees in 145 countries were surveyed for Gallup’s “State of the Global Workplace 2023” report. (SDA)
