New Democracy would win 158 seats compared to 45 for Syriza, 29 for Pasok and 21 for the Communist Party

The conservative party New Democracy (ND, 40-44% and 158 seats) of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis achieved a clear victory and an absolute majority that would allow him to govern independently, according to an exit poll published by the public television ERT, reports Europa Press.

Far behind is the Coalition of the Radical Left (Syriza, 16.1-19.1% and 45 seats), according to a study by Pulse, Alco, Marco, Metron Analysis and MRB, which ranks the historical Panhellenic Socialist Party (Pasok, 10-13. % and 29 places).

They are further behind Communist Party of Greece (KKE, 7.2-9.2% and 21 seats), far right formation Spartans (4-6% and 13 positions), match ultraconservative Greek solution (2.3-4, 3% and 9 places), Christian fundamentalist Nike (Victoria, 2.3-4.3 and 9 substitutes), forming the left Rumo a la Libertad (2-4% and 8 seats) and European Royalist Disobedience Front (MeRA25, 2-4% and 8 representatives).

New Democracy sources asked to wait for the official results. “We are waiting for the results. ND seems to be guaranteed autonomy. This is why we feel an even greater responsibility to meet the expectations of the citizens who have placed their trust in New Democracy and Kyriakos Mitsotakis,” the source said in statements collected by the newspaper. Kathimerini.

“The next few days are not days of celebration, but days of work. No time for complacency. We cannot lose a single day,” he pointed out.

Syriza, the second political force according to the survey, has not yet reacted, but Pasok did it through Harilaou Trikoupi. “This vote shows that Pasok is back and that he is restoring ties of trust with progressive citizens,” he pointed out.

“Pasok’s big bet is to become a reliable progressive opposition,” he emphasized. He also warned about the presence of far-right parties, for which he emphasized the role of his party as a “democratic bastion”.
