In the Europa Park there is a fire near the panorama train at the station “Spain”. A huge plume of smoke could be seen throughout the amusement park. A helicopter circled the sky.
Reader reporter Sylvia (42) reported several times that there were loud bangs. “It sounded like gas cylinders exploding,” she said. The areas of Iceland, Austria and Spain were cordoned off. “We don’t know how to get to our hotel in the Spanish part. We’re standing here in front of the barrier now,” she added desperately.
“There is chaos. No warning has been issued yet. The lanes are still open. People rush in and out,” said another reader-reporter. Around 6 p.m., all guests had to leave the park. People flocked to the exits.
The fact that it was burning could also be smelled from afar. Several firefighters were present.
Europapark reported on Twitter about an “incident”. We work closely with the responsible authorities and emergency services. An update will follow as new information becomes available. Europapark was unable to provide any information about the fire at Blick’s request.
