Russia: US is trying to create insects with Ebola and HIV

The head of the radiological, chemical and biological defense units of the Russian armed forces, Igor Kirilov, warned on Monday that the United States is trying to create insects that transmit diseases such as Ebola, HIV and hepatitis B.

According to Kirilov, they have already received cultures of mosquitoes infected with the hepatitis B virus.

The senior official said the work is being carried out by US Department of Defense organizations in the North American country and six branches abroad.

“This allows maintenance and contagion 89 mosquito species and 12 tick species with arboviruses in laboratory conditions“, said the high-ranking official in statements collected by RT.

Kirilov added that the US intends to use the territory of other countries as a testing ground for possible scenarios.

In the same way, he pointed out that Washington’s research on disease-carrying insects “has an extremely military and applied character.”

“The patent for a drone designed to spread infected mosquitoes by air demonstrates the high level of technical readiness of the US in the use of infected vectors,” he said.

A senior official indicated that the increase in incidents in american biolaboratory this is one of the reasons for the transfer of this type of work to Ukraine and other countries.

“This explains the worsening of the epidemic situation in the areas where they are located and the emergence of unusual diseases and vectors in these regions,” he commented.

On the other hand, the official emphasized that the flooding of areas in Kherson province due to the bursting of the Kakhovka hydroelectric dam could cause an outbreak of mosquito-borne diseases.
