Burning Erdogan doll in Zurich: Turkey orders Swiss ambassador to Ankara The “Row Zero” system – what is known about the Till Lindemann case so far

Turkey has summoned the Swiss ambassador to Ankara. According to a report by the state news agency Anadolu on Thursday, this was justified by the fact that a doll supposedly representing President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was burned on Wednesday during a demonstration in Zurich.

Videos showed a burning doll in a shopping cart. It was made clear to the ambassador that “provocations against President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Turkish flag are unacceptable”. In addition, Turkey had requested an investigation.

At the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency, the Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs (FDFA) announced on Thursday evening that it was aware of the events. Criminal proceedings have been initiated by the competent authorities.

The Swiss ambassador has informed the Turkish authorities of this. The EDA also informed the Turkish Embassy in Switzerland. It is for the Swiss judicial authorities to qualify the acts in accordance with Swiss law. (sda/dpa)
