Trump had employees rearrange documents in Mar-a-Lago

New details have emerged about the FBI raid on the luxury property of former US President Donald Trump (76). According to a newspaper report, one of his associates at the time gave new leads to investigators while searching for other classified government documents that Trump allegedly took to Mar-a-Lago in Florida.

Accordingly, Trump ordered boxes of documents in the property to be brought to his living room, as the Washington Post wrote Wednesday (local time), citing investigators. This came after Trump advisers received a request in May to return classified documents. This may have been an attempt to thwart a return to the current administration of President Joe Biden, the paper said.

Case keeps US Supreme Court sharp

In early August, the federal police’s FBI searched Trump’s property in the US state of Florida. The FBI seized several classified documents, some with the highest level of secrecy. However, during the search, several dozen empty folders with a secret note were also found. This raised the question of what happened to the papers originally contained in it.

The former Trump aide is now considered a key figure in the investigation into the classified documents, the Washington Post wrote. Video footage supports his statement that boxes had been moved, the newspaper reports.

By keeping the documents in his private home after Trump left office, he could have sued himself. After the search, a complicated legal wrangle began, which even the US Supreme Court is now engaged in. It remains to be seen whether Trump can ultimately be charged. The 76-year-old Republican has so far left open whether he wants to run for the 2024 presidential election. (SDA)
