Swiss people change their GP more often than they change their bank

The comparator Moneyland has examined the willingness of the Swiss population to change jobs. The result: Swiss people are more likely to switch mobile phones than mobile phone subscriptions – and GPs rather than banks.

In the past ten years, only 36 percent of those surveyed have changed their main bank. For borrowing and savings and for personal accounts, it was 37 percent each, Moneyland announced on Wednesday. In contrast, 57 percent changed GPs in the same period.

Moreover, while more than half switched smartphones at least three times, less than a quarter had a mobile phone contract. Changing cell phone plans is as unpopular as filing tax returns, the statement said. However, you can save a lot of money by switching.

The respondents also showed little willingness to change health insurer: more than half indicated that they had changed health insurer at least once in the past ten years. However, the value of those who switched providers at least five times was only eight percent. Here too there is a saving potential for customers, according to the statement.

In French-speaking Switzerland, health insurance was changed much more often than in German-speaking Switzerland. According to Moneyland, this is because premiums tend to be higher in western Switzerland. But it was also shown that the French-speaking Swiss are more willing to change than the German-speaking Swiss: 67 percent of those surveyed from French-speaking Switzerland stated that they had changed their hobby at least once. This was 55 percent among German-Swiss women. In general, older people were less open to change than younger people.

According to the report, the representative survey was conducted by the market research institute Ipsos among 1538 people from German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland. (oo/sda)
