1. Comprehensive washing

Treat your car to a car wash or wash it with a thorough hose, including under the body. This is how you remove the last bits of salt. However, the engine compartment must be cleaned by a specialist! Clean and lubricate the window rubber seals with warm water.

2. Install summer tires

As soon as temperatures consistently rise above seven degrees, it’s time for summer tires. The “O to O” rule of thumb has proven its worth from Easter to October. Summer tires wear less quickly than winter tyres, are more economical and have better driving characteristics. Before mounting, check the thread depth and then the correct air pressure.

3. Internal cleaning

Vacuum well, wipe windows inside and out (prevents backlight glare!), shake mats and cool air conditioner. If necessary, clean leather seats with care products.

4. Empty the trunk

Remove winter items such as snow chains or starter aids from the trunk. This reduces consumption (0.3 l/100 km per 100 kilos) and creates space.

5. Check the wipers

Ice and cold strain the windshield wipers. Replace damaged wiper blades – this ensures safety in summer storms!

6. Check paint/exhaust

Inspect the paintwork for chip damage, especially on the front and fenders. Small areas of corrosion can quickly turn into serious rust spots. Also check the exhaust for cracks and holes.

7. Check the electrical system

Check the battery for corrosion on the terminals, have the acid level checked by a specialist.
