When people talk about dating apps, many people think of Tinder, Bumble or Hinge. However, there are a few other apps on the market that promise great love. For example “Hulah” – but the new software has a very different approach than Tinder and Co.
The creator of the app, Heather Hopkins, explained in a TikTok exactly how the app works and how she came up with the idea to develop it: “I thought there were no good men left until I realized I had one who have a number of good men. That’s why I developed a dating app where women are paid with digital currency if they recommend good men and add them to the app.”
So Hopkins wants to create a dating experience with the “creme de la creme” of men.
If you are a man and from a woman as boyfriend material approved you can get nominated for “Hulah” by her. You will then receive a code with which you can log in to the app.
If you behave “good” while swiping, you can win so-called “gentleman points” from women. The more points you collect, the more likely you are to get a date.
While many women have praised the concept of ‘Hulah’, the app has also received a lot of criticism. For example, some users write on TikTok that such an app should never come on the market if the roles are reversed and men have to nominate women. In addition, many feel that the assessment of a “good man” is very subjective and says nothing about whether the man is really a good person.
