Goodbye voice messages! WhatsApp is developing a long-awaited feature

A function is being developed for the app that converts voice messages into text.

Hope for those who are not nervous about voice messages! WhatsApp is developing a feature that converts voice messages into text. The Tages-Anzeiger reports this today with reference to the news portal WABetaInfo, which provides information about new updates and functions at WhatsApp.

In 2021, WhatsApp implemented the ability to play voice messages faster. That same year, they started developing a transcription function. After that, it remained silent for a long time about the position desired by many.

But things seem to be moving now. An error message has been discovered in a beta version for the WhatsApp iOS app that appears when the transcription of a voice message is not working. However, the actual feature has not yet been tested – it is not yet known when it will arrive.
