Even expensive cars are affordable with a subscription

Admittedly, when it comes to car subscriptions, it’s often all about money. Transparent costs, an all-inclusive package and a flat monthly premium make the price the center of attention. For less than 500 francs a month, you can be on the road, for example, with the compact SUV Seat Arona. But Carvolution doesn’t just have cheap small cars. The Bernese start-up now has more than 70 different cars – some of them premium class.

By the way, the subscription also gets points in the upper price range with its price advantage. “With more expensive cars, our customers calculate more carefully and are often surprised at how cheap the subscription is,” says Carvolution co-founder Léa Miggiano.

Price advantage comes into play in the premium segment

Thanks to the vehicle subscription, the premium segment is also affordable. For example, the Volvo XC60 is available from Carvolution at a list price of CHF 810 per month (minimum term 36 months, 10,200 kilometers/year)* CHF 79,550. According to internet research, the same model with the same configuration costs 917 francs* per month in pure rental. In addition to the rental fee, there are taxes, insurance, services, etc., which Touring Club Switzerland (TCS) estimates at around CHF 586 per month. Gasoline and parking expenses are not included.

With a list price of 130,440 CHF, the BMW X5 is in the luxury segment. According to the manufacturer, customers pay CHF 1,603* per month for the SUV with a 48-month rental period. This is calculated without a deposit and with a mileage of 10,000 kilometers per year. Carvolution offers BMW a car subscription starting at 1399 francs per month. All inclusive – and with the option to choose a subscription period from 6 to 36 months. In addition, the mileage package can be adjusted monthly with a vehicle subscription.

Stay flexible and save money

But let’s start from the beginning: if you want to make a good investment of 70,000 francs, you can buy a Volvo XC60. Spacious SUV should cost this much at a discount. This may seem expensive. However, that puts it into perspective if you consider that the average price of a brand new car in Switzerland is well above 50,000 francs. Drivers in Switzerland love well-equipped, safe and modern cars. Nowhere else are there so many SUVs and all-wheel drive vehicles. Other than that, driving is nowhere near as expensive as it is here: We pay up to 53 percent more than abroad (Blick reported).

But buying a car only pays off if you drive it for a long time. If you change the vehicle early, you need to account for sensitive losses, especially since the residual value drops significantly during the first years of operation. However, given the rising prices, we prefer to save the savings for other expenses.

“With more expensive cars, our customers do the math more precisely and are often surprised at how cheap the subscription is.”Léa Miggiano, co-founder of Carvolution

Therefore, flexible ownership structures such as the Carvolution subscription offer more financial leeway. Renting is also an alternative if you want to configure the car to your liking. However, it’s always worth the calculation because the rental cost alone often costs more than a subscription. Léa Miggiano adds: “With the rental you can configure the car yourself from A to Z. With us, you get a pre-configured car and low and clearly calculable costs.»

Because even if you pay for your car in cash, you still have ongoing costs for taxes, insurance, maintenance and tires. The same applies to rentals, where the monthly rate covers pure vehicle costs only. With the Carvolution car subscription, everything is included except fuel or charging current.

Wide selection of premium brands

Subscription is especially good if you want to keep the total cost of the car under control. Because everything is included. This cost security is gaining increasing popularity. The freely selectable subscription period of 3 to 48 months also offers a high level of flexibility. In this way, the vehicle can be adapted to changing needs. This is probably one of the reasons why many families trust Carvolution.

But luxury car lovers will also get their money’s worth. The flagship is the Tesla Model S Plaid, a premium electric car with a range of 600 kilometers. But the Audi e-tron, Range Rover Evoque and BMW X5 also meet the needs of discerning customers. Carvolution has also been working with premium brand Genesis since April 2022.

The offer in the premium class is huge. But there are also mid-range cars and small cars to choose from. Combined with flexible configurations for subscription, tools are available for all requirements. And if you make a quick decision, you can also take advantage of the Black Friday promotion on Carvolution: you get a month free. A nice bargain in the premium segment.
