There’s an RM Sotheby’s auction in New York on December 8th that may fascinate some Hollywood movie fans. Among other things, a 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition will also go under the hammer. This vehicle is not just any Lamborghini, but one of the cars featured in Martin Scorsese’s (81) blockbuster “Wolf of Wallstreet” with Leonardo DiCaprio (49).

car without accident

In the film, DiCaprio plays stock trader Jordan Belfort. Besides expensive watches, luxury yachts and lots of drugs, there is something else: big cars. A beautiful Lamborghini Countach stands out in particular. Because Belfort drives the white bull while drunk and crashes! However, the car auctioned is not the model that crashed. Two white Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Editions plus at least one other Countach were used for the film.

The engine produced by Giotto Bizzarrini (1926 to 2023) produces 455 hp (335 kW) in this version. The Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition is one of 657 total Countachs and was the last series produced from 1988 to 1990 to celebrate the company’s 25th anniversary. RM Sotheby’s estimates the price at $1.5 to two million. This corresponds to approximately 1.32 to 1.76 million Swiss Francs.

Meanwhile, the Countach destroyed in the movie was hit in Abu Dhabi last weekend. Bonhams expected sales between 1.35 and 1.8 million francs, but Lambo could not find a buyer…
