You don’t need to own a classic car to experience the classic car passion. Thanks to experience worlds such as the Pantheon Basel in Muttenz BL or the Autobau in Romanshorn TG, you can immerse yourself in the world of young and old without them. Even classic car showrooms like Emil Frey or Schmohl, with their uniquely appointed classic centers, have long been meeting places for the classic car scene.

This is V8 Bros., where crowds of people form in Trimbach SO even on a normal Saturday. also applies to It’s not always about buying and selling rare spare parts or renting an old part. For many fans, this temple of tradition has long become a favorite place to shop over coffee.

Here we briefly present three companies and institutions representing other similar facilities.

V8 Bros., Trimbach SO: Eldorado for American fans

Roland Schibli (46) laughs: “If more than a hundred people come to us on a Saturday, it usually looks like a little Ami get-together.” The trained mechanic has driven the V8 Bros. in Trimbach, near Olten, an Eldorado for fans of American cruisers for twelve years. In a space of approximately 3,000 square feet, Schibli offers a versatile service for legendary US models from the 1950s to the 1980s. “You can buy a car from us, have it serviced or repaired. Rent a US classic for outings or check out the exhibit and shop at the bar.»

Schibli’s business is booming. Also, in addition to the popular bestselling Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette, there are more unusual models like the Oldsmobile 88 or the 1970 Dodge Coronet R/T Super Drag Pack. Schibli once completely rebuilt the latter for his own use. “But with our business at the moment, I finally sold it with peace of mind.” More information: www.v8bros.ch

Pantheon Basel, Muttenz BL: A world of experience for old fans

The idea behind the Pantheon in Muttenz was actually a parking lot for vintage cars. Basel classic car enthusiast Stephan Musfeld (69) was looking for a place for himself and his friends to safely store their precious car. He expanded his idea after finding a building in 2006: A vintage car market was created on the ground floor. There are also workshop boxes where you can work on your own vintage car under expert supervision.

A restaurant with a view of the workshop and a museum with permanent and temporary exhibitions make the subject of the classic car open to the public. The Basel Pantheon is a success. It has been running like clockwork since it opened 15 years ago. “About 170 vehicles are permanently parked at the site. Our parking spaces are fully utilized. The restaurant is also full almost every evening,” says Stephan Musfeld happily. But his services are also creative: Among other things, he offers tenants a dusting subscription so that historic vehicles are always presented in perfect condition. But at the new meeting place of nearly 450 square meters in Kemptthal, at Schmohl Exclusive Classic Cars, everything revolves around young and old.
