Unlike the previous XX models, the special models SF90 XX Stradale and its open-top counterpart, the SF90 XX Spider, can be driven quite normally in road traffic.

If a new Ferrari can only be used on the racetrack, it will have the abbreviation XX in its name. Means “for track use only” – please only drive on covered slopes. But now the Italian sports car brand is breaking down its system: because the new special models SF90 XX Stradale and SF90 XX Spider are legal to drive as an open roadster version and differ from the previous FXX, FXX Evo, 599XX, FXX K and FXX models. K Evo to the race cars you can go shopping for as usual.

Slight increase in performance

Limited to the 799 coupé and 599 convertible, the special edition is, as the name suggests, based on the SF90 Stradale. Technical changes? There are, but retouched details: The 4-liter biturbo V8, with two electric motors on the front axle and another between the engine and transmission, delivers a maximum of 804 Newton meters (Nm) and 1030 hp (757 kW) of torque. ). This is a more manageable 30 horses than the basic version. New pistons and changes to the intake pipe put out 797 hp (586 kW), 17 hp more than the V8 instead of the previous 780 hp (573 kW).

Electric motors have been upgraded to 233 hp (171 kW), previously 220 hp (162 kW). The electric range remains at 25 kilometers, as the battery capacity remains at 7.9 kilowatt-hours (kWh). The new boost function in the skilled drive mode provides additional power when accelerating from corners. Both versions reach 100 km/h in just 2.3 seconds and lock to 320 km/h.

Major visual changes

Visually, much more has been tuned, including aerodynamics. The larger front splitter, now two instead of one wide air intake in the hood and fenders, optimizes downforce and flow through the body, among other things. The rear wheel arches also feature new air vents. The most striking feature at the rear is the large rear spoiler, which presses the rear onto the asphalt with 530 kg of downforce at speeds of 250 km/h. Inside, a carbon and Alcantara instrument cluster and two carbon fiber seats developed specifically for the XX model make significant differences from the standard SF90.

The limited model should start at 800,000 francs, and the open version from 870,000 francs. There isn’t a penny Ferraristi has to pay for the last horse. Exclusivity is also high, and it also determines the wait time, as the coupé’s first deliveries are expected in mid-2024. Perhaps all 1398 copies have already been sold to the best customers.
