This is a paid shipment brought to you by Volkswagen Switzerland.

Car

Pat: Before switching from VW bus to ID. Buzz, I really didn’t know what to expect. My reservations about range (423 kilometers*) and charging. But they both went fast, which is no problem at all, since I usually drive less than 300 kilometers a day anyway. It’s already clear: I never want to have another car than this one! Identity Buzz offers incredible comfort, plenty of seating and the best way to see what’s on the road. The driving experience is simply amazing – you will hardly notice that you are actually driving.

Martin: I love everything about my 1977 VW T2. But what I love most is the shape the car exudes and all the charm. My father always had vintage cars. So my love for old cars must have been inherited!

Equipment

Pat: First I need space for my surfboards and three guitars and of course my clothes. Since I will be living almost entirely in the car for the next few months, I bought myself a portable kitchen for next summer. Fancy is a special tool: the massage chair! For example, I like to get a massage when I’m stuck in traffic. This is pure relaxation.

Martin: My equipment is pretty complete. I have a fixed bed, homemade kitchen furniture with a 2-burner gas hob, then a wooden box for storage, two water drums, a composting toilet, and a camp shower. I also installed a solar panel on the roof that I use to generate all the electricity I need for camper life.

routes

Pat: I often go from concert to concert so I can travel all over Switzerland. I especially love being in the mountains. The power of the car is so much that I can always climb all the slopes easily, people often can’t believe it. Now I’m planning trips to Spain or Biarritz (F) for surfing. A small challenge on these trips has to be charging: I need to find charging stations on my way to Southwest Europe. However, longer journeys are now possible without any problems, thanks to the well-developed e-charging network.

Martin: Up to two months a year I’m on the road with my Bulli on a wide variety of routes. So I’ve already traveled to Italy, sailed to Corsica, explored the Balkans, traveled to Turkey, and traveled to Morocco via Spain. I am far from exhausted by my goals!

“The transition to an identity. I can’t imagine Buzz. What matters to me is the charm of the classic car. This is lost in new cars.”Martina Bisaz in ID. buzz

nomadic life

Pat: I love Biarritz and have been thinking about buying a cottage there for a while. However, this issue changed after the identity was changed. Buzz is complete. I could no longer be without my nomadic life. You can’t buy this feeling of freedom! I’m also incredibly flexible and can always do whatever I want – including my kitchen and bed. I’m really looking forward to my next post on the road.

Martin: When I’m out with my Bulli, I feel an indescribable sense of freedom with a little touch of adventure. It is never boring as there is so much variety. It suits me as I can be very spontaneous behind the wheel so I don’t miss anything on the road. Sleeping is also very comfortable – I have a great bed. Sometimes cold and rainy days are not very pleasant because I cannot stand on the bus.

reactions

Pat: Whether it’s from children or the elderly, the reaction is always the same: Wow, what kind of car is this? Isn’t this the VW bus we used to have? Identity. The Buzz has an air of luxury, but not as flashy as a Ferrari. No matter where I go: Identity. Buzz is the star!

Martin: Many are a bit surprised that I travel alone as a woman. But everyone loves Bulli! It’s iconic and has a lot of charm.

Festival

The Bulli has been one of the most popular vehicles in the world for seven generations and its fan base is accordingly large. By the way, the next meeting of all fans of the iconic car will take place from June 23-25, 2023 at the VW Bus Festival in Hannover (Germany), the home of Bullis.
