Mapfre will continue to sponsor the Copa del Rey de Vela

The contract between the insurer and Real Club Náutico de Palma is for the years 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Mapfre has extended its collaboration agreement with Real Club Náutico de Palma to be the main sponsor of the Copa del Rey for another three years. So, The insurer will continue to give the regatta its name, as Copa del Rey Mapfre, in the 2023, 2024 and 2025 editions.

The contract is made clear by the signing between Emeric Fuster, president of Real Club Náutico de Palma (RCNP) and the organizing committee of the regatta, and José Manuel Inchausti, CEO of Mapfra Iberia, at the insurer’s headquarters. Raúl Costilla, CEO of Mapfra Vida, and Manuel Fraga, director of RCNP, also participated in the said act.

Emerico Fuster appreciated this renewal: “It is a source of pride for the club and for Spanish sailing that we can once again renew Mapfre’s trust for the Copa del Rey, which allows us to promote sailing and its values ​​such as commitment, teamwork and sustainability. our biggest thanks.”

For his part, José Manuel Inchausti pointed out that this agreement strengthens Mapfre’s commitment to sailing and to this historic event, “to which the company has been associated for 16 years, since it shares with it the values ​​of effort, solidarity and the desire to overcome that sailors show year after year year.”

Mapfre’s association with one of the main sailing regattas in the Mediterranean, the Copa del Rey, began in 2007. Every summer, Palma and the whole island of Mallorca become the world center of sailing between the last week of July and the first week of August. This year, the regatta celebrates its 41st edition from Sunday, July 30 to Saturday, August 5, and it will be repeated with the unconditional support of Mapfre.

The Copa del Rey will play its 41st edition in 2023. More than a hundred teams from more than twenty nationalities meet in Palma every year to compete in one of the world’s leading regattas in the cruiser class. The extensive sports and social calendar spread over the seven official days of the regatta will have its final highlight on Saturday, August 5 at 9:00 pm with the awards ceremony in Ses Voltes, presided over by King Don Felipe.
