The 2022/23 Bundesliga season is over for Silvan Widmer. That is what his club Mainz announces. It is very likely that the Swiss national team’s European Championship qualifiers against Andorra and Romania in mid-June will also take place without the 30-year-old.
The fullback underwent successful left heel surgery this week. This operation has nothing to do with the capsular ligament injury in his left ankle that Widmer sustained on April 30 in Wolfsburg.
